Gato Patat

Delicious Gato Patat recipe

To celebrate Divali, here is our #Concepts recipe 

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of sweet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons of self-raising flour
  • 250 g of grated coconut
  • 250 g of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Sunflower oil

The method:

Wash the sweet potatoes, then peel them and boil them until they are cooked enough to be mashed into a puree.

Puree them with your hand blender until you get a smooth consistency. Add the grated coconut, vanilla extract and sugar. Cover with cling film and let stand for 20 minutes.

Then add the flour until you get a smooth dough.

Make individual balls and flatten them. Add a little coconut in the center, fold into a half-moon and close the edges with a fork. Fry over medium heat until a nice golden color.

Let cool and enjoy!
