Commitment without frontiers
New winners and a call for entries, the news of the International Award Terre de Femmes is rich.
The Yves Rocher Foundation, which we have supported since its inception, understands the potential and power of women. With the International Terre de Femmes Award, created in 2019, the Foundation honors all these fields made possible through female strength and determination. This prize rewards actions carried out by a woman or a group of women, coming from voluntary or solidarity projects. Each year it explores, also and above all, a different theme to draw attention to an environmental subject, but also to shed light on those who often act in the shadows for the common good and our planet.
The commitment of women has no limits. Inspired, convinced, optimistic, they are often at the forefront of environmental action. On forefront of these struggles for the living world, they do not hesitate to act on any issues and leave a positive imprint on them.
In its first edition in 2019, starting with the theme “Living soils challenge”, the International Award recognized the commitment of Ruhama, who works in Ethiopia to reforest soils degraded by deforestation.
This year, the 2021 award rewarded two laureates working on the theme “Seeds, the guardians of our nourishing heritage & biodiversity”.
Cléofécelia is fighting in Peru to preserve the seeds and grains of the Andes, she won the International Award. Marie works in the Alpes-Maritimes to preserve local seeds, and won Special mention of the Jury. The two women, separated by thousands of kilometers, come together in a common price, commitment, vision and values.
We continue to proudly support this award and these initiatives. The 2022 edition of the International Award is already underway under the theme “Wildlife at the heart of a great natural equilibrium. “. The subject is crucial.
Deforestation, drying out of wetlands, artificialization of soils, chemical pollution, use of pesticides, are all known factors responsible for the extinction of species.
This angle is also an opportunity to alert people to the causes endangering wildlife. According to a WWF report, 68% of wild vertebrates have disappeared since 1970. The balance and integrity of our ecosystem is threatened.
Are you one of those who take action? Are you leading a project promoting the preservation of wildlife? Do you know a friend invested in this field; an all-women collective mobilized around the cause? If you answer yes to at least one of these questions, don’t hesitate. You have until from September 15th until November 15th, 2021 to register. Try your luck and apply to join this beautiful community of award-winning women committed to an ever more beautiful and life-full planet.
