The VIPs [Very Important Plants] of La Gacilly

For over 60 years, the Yves Rocher brand has studied and harnessed the best nature has to offer to provide you with effective and sensory skincare products with 100% plant-based active ingredients.

The signature plants of La Gacilly, including Wild Chamomile, Calendula, and Cornflower, are certified organic by AB and UEBT (Union for Ethical BioTrade). They are cultivated using agroecology to promote positive agriculture, contributing to the respect of natural resources and the regeneration of biodiversity. Here’s everything you need to know about their VIPs.

Cornflower – This plant blooms every year in July and August, then is mechanically harvested, dried, and distilled. The floral water obtained through this 100% natural process is used for its soothing* and protective* properties for the skin. Find this plant in our Pur Bleuet makeup remover and our makeup products.

Ice Plant – Known for its ability to adapt to extreme conditions. The Ice Plant extract developed by Yves Rocher Research has shown its ability to stimulate a protein that regulates the mechanisms and functions of skin cells: protection, defense, and regeneration. This plant is the active ingredient in the Filler Végétal skincare range, an anti-aging line that plumps and smooths.

Edulis – Selected for its ability to capture and retain water in its leaves. Its powerful moisturizing active ingredient, cellular water, is obtained through an exclusive and patented extraction process, without solvents, to preserve the environment and the efficacy of this active ingredient. Experience its effectiveness in the Hydra Végétal range.

Wild Chamomile – One of the very first plants cultivated by the Yves Rocher brand. The plant is harvested starting in May and is known for its soothing* properties and its ability to strengthen sensitive skin.

Microalgae – Cultivated in southern Brittany in photobioreactors, they are then concentrated and fragmented to release their content rich in minerals. Their oxygenating and antioxidant* properties stimulate the skin’s defenses, helping it fight against the harmful effects of pollution. This active ingredient is at the heart of the Pure Algue cleansers.
